FanArc Studio (Pty) Ltd (“FanArc”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”).
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information when you use the Slipstream mobile application (“App”).
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following personal information:
Mobile phone number (required for account authentication)
Username or display name
Mobile network associated with the registered mobile number
Optional recovery email address
We may also collect:
In-app activity and participation data
Device and session information
IP address
Technical usage analytics
3. Purpose of Processing
Your personal information is processed to:
Create and manage your user account
Authenticate login via OTP
Administer rewards and voucher allocations
Provide account recovery functionality
Enable users to manage and delete their account and personal information through self-service functionality within the App.
Send race-related service notifications (which users may opt out of)
Improve and maintain platform performance
Prevent misuse or abuse of the App
We do not sell personal information.
4. Direct Marketing
Slipstream does not use your mobile number or email address for unsolicited marketing communication.
Race reminders and app-related notifications are considered service communications and may be disabled in your app settings.
5. Sharing of Personal Information
We may share personal information with:
Service providers supporting SMS delivery, email functionality, hosting, and analytics
Authorities where required by law
We do not share identifiable personal information with brand sponsors. Any sponsor reporting will be anonymised and aggregated.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to operate the App or comply with legal obligations.
Users may delete their Slipstream account at any time by selecting ‘Delete Profile’ within the App.
When a profile is deleted, all personal information that identifies the user (including their name, username, mobile number and recovery email address) is permanently removed from the account and can no longer be recovered.
To preserve the integrity of historical competition results, leaderboards, platform analytics and system reporting, anonymised participation records may be retained. These records no longer contain information that can reasonably identify an individual.
7. Security Safeguards
We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information from unauthorised access, misuse, or loss.
8. Your Rights Under POPIA
You have the right to:
Access your personal information
Request correction of inaccurate information
Request deletion of your personal information
Object to processing in certain circumstances
Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa
Privacy requests, including account deletion, can be managed directly within the App.

9. Cookies and Analytics
Slipstream may use analytics tools to improve user experience and platform performance. These tools collect technical usage information and do not directly identify users.
